Fire Safety and Fire Risk Assessments
Course Overview
This one-day course is aimed at managers, safety officers and other employees who are responsible
for fire safety and for carrying out fire risk assessments in their workplace.
It has been designed to provide delegates with a full appreciation of the legal and practical
issues involved in the management of fire safety and related risk assessments.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into force in October 2006. Fire certificates
for commercial premises have been abolished and have been replaced with a requirement to carry out
fire risk assessments.
In most workplaces the person charged with this responsibility will be the actual employer.
It is therefore vital that employers ensure that they have competent people to carry out this
responsibility and related tasks, who possess the necessary level of knowledge and awareness in fire
safety and fire risk assessments.
During the course delegates will learn both the legal framework and how to apply this to an
overall fire prevention strategy.
